Which Countries are Represented by the Trade Party Screening Solution?
The screening solution identifies individuals, companies, educational institutions, and other organizations that are prohibited or restricted trading partners by the following countries:

United States
Japan
Member States of the European Union
Canada

Management Dynamics also captures listed individuals and entities found on the United Nations "New Consolidated List" pursuant to UN Security Council Resolutions 1267, 1333 and 1390
How Many Chapters from the Harmonized System Classification does Management Dynamics Support?
We cover all 97 chapters of HS classifications for each country, averaging 19,000 product classifications per country. For the United States the Management Dynamics solution flags the HS numbers to which Chapter 99 applies.
Where does the Data Come From?
This varies by country and type of data. The European Union, Canada, and the United States publish the HS electronically. Other countries do not. We subscribe to each country's HS so that we receive updates automatically and expeditiously. Information on import and export controls is usually gathered from the respective government agency. Our In Country Content Providers also stay abreast of the newest and most efficient data gathering methods.
How Frequently are Updates Made?
Most WTO member's tariff schedules undergo substantial changes on the first business day of January. This is consistent with the WTO goal of lowering duties every year. Management Dynamics aims to rollover countries within six weeks of the date of receipt of a new tariff schedule. Changes within a given year are known as updates. Updates show on the system within 7 days after they have been received.

Some countries update frequently, some don't. The U.S. updates occur five to six times per year. Most changes are statistical, not duty or admissibility related. Other changes may be due to "trade wars", which usually result in temporary high duties assessed against a limited range of products. For example, the U.S. has recently enacted protectionist measures on imports of steel and steel products and retaliation by other countries is imminent.

The content analysts at Management Dynamics search the U.S. government Web sites and the Federal Register on a daily basis to maintain the list of denied parties.  Updates to the Trade Party Screening lists are generally made within 24 hours of any government agency's publication.

The best place to check on the latest content updates is the Management Dynamics Status Wizard. The Status Wizard is accessible through the Reference Section.
